Stockist Spotlight: Raglan Herbal Dispensary

If you’re heading to Raglan for the WSL Corona Cero New Zealand Pro this week, there’s a good chance you’ll find yourself wandering down Wallis Street at some point. And if you do, make sure you stop into The Herbal Dispensary.

One of our original stockists, Herbal has been part of the Raglan community for decades and part of the Volare story for a long time too. What started as a small clinic and dispensary back in 1996 has grown into a well-loved natural health, wholefoods, and organic grocery store that feels very Raglan in the best possible way – relaxed, thoughtful, community-focused, and always busy.

Now owned by Natalie for the past five years, Herbal has become a bit of a one-stop shop for locals and visitors alike. You’ll find shelves lined with natural health products, a steady stream of people picking up naturopathic support, and a seriously solid Volare offering seven days a week.

And during the WSL? It gets even busier.

With the world’s best surfers in town for the first-ever Championship Tour event held in Raglan, the whole place has been humming. The nice weather has brought the crowds out, and according to Natalie, people seem to be sticking around a little longer this year too.

For the weekend finals, they’ll have the gazebos out front, Bonsoy tastings happening, and plenty of baked goods rolling through the doors.

Their Volare shelves are always changing with the seasons, but a few things never really move from the favourites list.

Pain au Levain and San Francisco continue to be the classics. Pies and sausage rolls are still going strong. The Volare Grain has been flavour of the month lately. And when the long weekends roll around, Raglan customers tend to lean toward the more novel loaves and weekend treats.

Cronuts, Danish pastries, banana bread – they all disappear quickly.

They’ve also recently collaborated with Raglan Surf Co on a limited-edition tea range, with cups available both in-store and through the surf shop – another nice little example of how connected the local community is.

If you’re in town for the surfing this week – or just chasing a good coffee and a loaf before heading to the beach – it’s well worth a visit.

Open 9am–5pm, seven days.
